Young people

Many young people become disaffected with learning and so run the risk of not finding satisfying work.

If the Learning and Skills Council is to fulfil its core task of raising the participation and achievement of young people, it isn't enough to improve what's on offer. We need to convince young people that learning is exciting, life-enhancing and worthwhile.

The Young People's Learning Committee helps us in this. It advises us on all of our responsibilities for young people's learning, including the potential of family learning and how to foster the skills needed to help young people make the transition into work and into active participation in society.
